When searching for the most appropriate web designer it is better to thoroughly analyze the graphic design portfolio of the web designer whom you have short listed. The following need to be considered for the perfect analysis of the portfolio and finally the web designer.
• Does the designer have a Portfolio?
Nowadays the portfolio is said to be the face of what the designer has done till date. If the designer does not have a portfolio it is obvious that the designer does not know to keep pace with the changing times. It is also possible that the designer may not have a portfolio just because he/she may not have found it necessary. It is always better to opt for a designer who has an impressive portfolio.
• How many types of projects has the designer completed?
Study the portfolio for the types of projects handled. If the designer has handles projects related to the industry that you belong to then he/she may take less time to complete. Moreover he/she may already be aware of the niceties of your industry/sector and this can help in making the website more appealing for the targeted audience.
• Are his/her clients satisfied with his/her work?
The portfolio should have the testimonials or the feedback of the clients to whom the designer has provided the services. One should always double check if those testimonials are not fabricated or fake.
• How many projects has the designer completed?
It usually takes a maximum of 30 days and a minimum of 15 days to complete a web design project. Now you need to first know when designer started offering his/her services and how many project has/she completed. Depending on this you can get to know his efficiency. You can also get a grim idea about the time it would take for him to complete your work.
• Has the designer always delivered quality work?
Click on the links (in the portfolio) of the projects completed by the designer. If the website downloads instantaneously then the work of the designer should be considered good, but if it takes a longer time then there has to be something wrong somewhere. You should also check the navigation in those websites to be sure about the quality delivered.
• How does his/her own website look?
The designer’s website should always be compared with the work that he/she has done. If the designer’s website is found to be superior to the work that he/she has done then his/her efficiency should be doubted because most probable that designer got his/her website designed by someone else.
The portfolio of the designer not only speaks but also communicates everything about the designer.
